If you like nothing better than grilling a bit of meat in the open air, and you happen to be in Berlin any time soon, then you have to go and check out the Weber BBQ store we stumbled across recently.
Located about 5 minutes walk south of Hackesher Market, the Weber store isn’t just a place to get a new BBQ or some coal – it’s an outdoor cooking destination store for everyone from serious enthusiasts to first timers.
Once you get past the feature displays explaining how the original kettle cookers came to be, and the brand walls explaining the range and how to shop it, there’s a real wealth of information, experience and well laid out products for both the BBQ enthusiast, those that just love a good store, and the casual passer by. It was great to see a store and communications that had taken into consideration both the purchasing and selling needs, and not just making the product look great.
The Weber Grill academy (that used to have a standalone base near Oxford in the UK) takes up nearly half of the total floor space, with classes offered on everything from advanced smoking to beginners sessions.
You can even get advice on the best cuts of meat to suit the way you’re planning to cook, and buy them in store.
If it’s all too much effort, or, like us, you were just in town for a few days, you can just grab one of the best Bratwurst in the city at the pop up cooking space they have outside.
